Service Policy
Residential Clientele
This information is provided to help you better understand your pool service and clarify what you can expect as a customer of Gregg Jacobson Pool & Spa
Service Calls:
The service technician will make one scheduled visit per week unless otherwise agreed upon. Extra service calls are subject to A fee. If we cannot access your pool on your normally scheduled weekly day due to reasons beyond our control, (loose unfamiliar/aggressive dogs, locked gate, etc.) Your pool will be serviced the following week. Normal weekly service visits are limited to a maximum of 25 minutes unless otherwise noted.
Rainy Days:
If your service day falls on a rainy day, your pool will be serviced the following week. If possible, depending on the severity of the rain, We may perform a chemical and basket service only.
Windy Days:
If your service day falls on a windy day, our procedures will be as follows: a quick skimming to clear large debris off the surface, all baskets and bags will be emptied, chemicals will be checked, and levels adjusted as needed. We will try to have your pools appearance back to normal the following week.
Holidays:
If your service day falls on a national holiday, your pool will be serviced the following week. If your service day falls on a holiday and you need your pool or spa serviced for a special event, please call at least one week in advance so arrangements can be made to clean your pool.
Vacation:
Each invoice is billed and based on a 4-week month. Meaning, only 48 weeks of service are billed for in any given year. During each year, there are 4 months that contain 5 weeks. I do not bill for these extra weeks and use these weeks at various times throughout the year for educational seminars and vacation. I am closed the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as Weekends.
Monthly Service Fees and Additional Costs:
Invoices are generated and mailed on the 20th of the month. Your monthly fee is typically a base price and unless otherwise noted does not include Filter Cleaning, Annual Conditioner Balancing, Algae prevention, or Chlorine Tablets and Salt if needed.
Repairs: Major repairs will be billed as needed and it is my policy to notify you in advance before work is done. On occasion, small repairs (such as broken pool vacuums, leaks, O-rings, hoses and seals) will be done immediately on-site and added to your monthly bill. If parts are replaced, We will leave the old parts for your inspection. Please be aware that if a major repair is needed and you decide not to proceed, there may be an adverse effect on the condition and appearance of your pool or spa. We will not be able to spend excessive time working around the problem to maintain a normal appearance of your pool or spa.
Annual Rate Adjustment:
Rates are adjusted typically once per year. These adjustments are necessary due to inflation, and the ever-increasing costs of insurance, chemicals, gasoline, labor, etc. The average annual rate adjustment is approximately $5 but will vary slightly. I try my best to give a months notice when possible before a rate change takes place.
Client Responsibilities:
Clients are expected to make all payments in full unless other arrangements are made prior to the end of the month. Also, keep in mind that unless your pool has an auto-fill system installed and working, it is the homeowner’s responsibility to maintain proper water levels always. Low water level can destroy your pool equipment. High water level will reduce filter efficiency. If you expect to be out of town for an extended period, please let us know so that arrangements can be made in advance.
